How to Prevent Plant Root Burn

Family planting always come across root burn phenomenon. The leaf of a beautiful plant suddenly shows scorch or “dry” symptom. Perhaps, the leaf tip may also turn yellowish is one of the significant appearance on root burn effect..
Root burn is one of the most common symptom found in family gardening especially those who just started the planting.
Think of Root Burn Effect if the tree suddenly turn yellowish at leaf tip.
Symptom of Plant Root Burn
Root burn is a symptom showing the plant is encountering excessive mineral salt given to the plant. While mineral salt comes in higher concentration, the water supply to the tree becomes inadequate. This lead to dehydration to the plant.
The overfeed of excess fertilizer to the plant is the main reason causing root burn. This symptom becomes obvious while chemical fertilizer is used.
Once the root burn symptom appears, chances for recovery is very slim, but it is always no harm to flush the plant with plenty of water.
Worry Free Organic Compost or Pellet
Compare with chemical fertilizer, the organic compost or pellet gives better margin for root burn effect. Organic compost is rich in organic substances but not the mineral salt. Unless excess compost is applying to a plant, it always a better choices for home gardening.
Organic pellet could be even better than compost. This is because the slow-release ability. Even applying a palm size of organic pellet to a small croup, it still safe from root burn.
Away from Root Burn
It is very bad while a crop turn out to root burn especially the crop shows wilting. In this case, over apply fertilizer to the plant is the main culprit.
Select Organic Pellet as the main nutrient source especially for home gardening.
Select the fertilizer with slow release ability. The nutrient will be slowly and evenly distribute to the soil without drastic change on the soil properties. Liquid fertilizer with dripping mechanism could also serve the similar purpose.
Root burn effect is a common topic in planting. Understand your crop and apply adequate fertilizer will be the main activity. For home planting, we recommend convert to organic compost or organic pellet product. These will further ease the planting process.
